Searchlight Technology’s current solution “Searchlight” is designed to seamlessly connect conveyancing, legal and real estate professionals with South Australian Councils to better process and complete Section 7, Section 187 and pre-populated Form1 certificates.
Council is instantly alerted when a Search is ordered. Payment is processed via a secure payment gateway. The required documents are uploaded to the portal and the completed search is delivered to the practitioner electronically.
Order your pre-populated Form 1 via the Searchlight portal, sit back, relax and let us take care of the data entry and ordering of all the required statutory searches. Once complete, your Form1 will be accessible either in REI Forms Live or AIC Forms live, where you can then complete the questionnaire and sign off.

The process of requesting Section 7, Section 187 searches and Pre-populated FORM1s from Councils and of Councils assembling and submitting that information was a focus of investigation for Searchlight Technology.
A national search revealed a lack of available solutions to streamline this process. The Searchlight portal was developed to meet this need.

Analysis of the current Section 7 search process in a number of Councils has demonstrated that using The Searchlight Technology Portal can lead to a dramatic reduction of the time required by Council staff to execute the required searches, especially where manual processes are being used.
THE OPPORTUNITY
One integral component required to complete the Form1 is the search provided by Local Government. While the Property Interest Report provided by Land Services Group is requested online and able to be downloaded immediately, the council search may be requested by email, fax or even post and traditionally takes up to a week or more to be available thus slowing the process of completing and serving the Form 1 on the prospective purchaser. Also, the information required to be sourced, checked, scanned, printed and collated involves significant council resources.
The Searchlight Technology portal provides an opportunity for a win/win situation in which the customer will receive their requested council search more rapidly online and the council will be able to streamline their processes, improve efficiency and enhance job satisfaction.
